Forest Zone

Sendero Catedral de Arrayanes

In the middle of the native forest arises a parenthesis. The density of green is interrupted to give space to a grove of arrayanes whose specimens, in search of light, rise over 25 meters. A cathedral of filtered light and reddish trunks.

Sendero Río Bravo

Following the course of the Río Bravo, the trail winds through an ancient, evergreen forest that represents the vegetation levels of the Chiloé forest. Mosses and lichens, shrubs and mature trees abound. There are mañío trees over 600 years old that grow from enormous trunks with a diameter of up to 30 meters.

Sendero la Cascada

Route to the Río Bravo waterfall. A 10-meter high fall that reveals the seasonal flow of the river. The caramel-colored waters descend into a narrow and deep channel, where the Southern River Otter lives and the Kingfisher feeds.

Sendero Las Nalcas

At the end of the Cascada route, the beginning of the Nalcas trail is located. The hike starts towards the Pirulil mountain range, and the landscape changes as giant Nalca plants up to 5 meters tall start to appear. In the higher areas, it’s possible to see hundreds of years old cypress trees, which are hard to find in Chiloé due to the indiscriminate logging of the last century.

Coastal Zona

Sendero del Tiempo

Panoramic route through the dunes and cliffs of Chiloé’s open coast. A sublime landscape with an iconic finish at the Muelle del Tiempo (Time Pier). Making your way among the birds and defying the wind to dominate the expanse of the Pacific Ocean.

Sendero Tricolor

Beyond the Muelle del Tiempo, the views open up to the unexplored coast of the island. An unspoiled and colorful landscape of stony expanses, stunted forests, dunes and wetlands.
